420 EGP

The emergence and development of an art form has never been an isolated activity. It is of course closely related to its historical tradition, geographical location, and various social factors that intersected with it at that time period in the Middle Ages. In the northwestern cultural center of Dunhuang, a unique Buddhist cave group was formed after more than a thousand years of continuous construction of Dunhuang Caves.

This book discusses Dunhuang from the perspective of art history, covering many aspects such as murals and color carvings in Dunhuang Grottoes, as well as handwritten calligraphy, and attaches great importance to the question of the influence of Indian and Central Asian art
