"This is China" is a six-part large-scale documentary series co-produced by China Radio International, Russia Today Television and China Broad View Cultural Communication Center. The documentary series explores the exquisite traditions of Chinese culture and landscapes in China, but focuses on China's economic and social development achievements from Russia's perspective.
In order to provide a deeper insight into China to foreign audiences, the China Radio, Film and Television Corporation, in cooperation with the People's Publishing House and the Documentary Film Production Group, launched the "This is China" book series. It transforms moving images and dynamic sounds into static texts, allowing documentary viewers and book readers to savor the cultural connotations, social ideas and reforms contained in "This is China" at their own pace. The book has enriched and expanded the themes drawn from the documentary series. Several topics have been explored in depth to enhance the richness of knowledge and raise interest in topics
related to traditional Chinese culture.
