The brief, scattered notes for this book were written between October 1962 and May 1963 during a trip to the United States that remained stuck in my memory and in the memory of millions of people because of the Cuban crisis that threatened humanity.
With nuclear destruction.
After my return to Cyprus, I collected these notes in the summer and fall of 1963, retyped them on the typewriter, and left them in my files, waiting for more.
Forty years.
In 2003, while I was writing my autobiographical novel “Diva,” I remembered it, pulled it out of the closet of time, re-read it, and a number of friends read it. Then we discussed it and came to the conclusion that the years that had passed
It supports the eternity of events and circumstances that describe, explain, and emphasize their importance. After this evaluation, I began working on the text, adding and highlighting
Various aspects, which lasted approximately four years. This is how the clippings and notes that I found in my desk drawer turned into chapters and took the form they have today.
Most of the events and situations included in this book are realistic events, and for understandable reasons, their heroes were given different names.
