In poetic language not devoid of poignancy, the Slovak writer Jana Bud Narova presents pages from the memoirs of a couple who separated after a marriage full of plans and dreams. Ona and Andrei Ota is an anesthesiologist in the maternity ward. She is emotional and has difficulty bearing the details of reality, while Andrei is a rational radiologist who thinks he has a clear perception of everything.
The couple separates after the death of their two adopted daughters, who were the center of their lives. We recall with them the two girls’ childhood, and the short lives of the two girls tell us that the traumas that a person is exposed to in childhood do not go away, and remain with him until they turn into a major crisis that leaves its effects.
